The Douglas County School Board has approved use of a dual testing procedure: The NNAT & the CogAT. The GT teachers at each site will schedule and administer both tests. Your child only needs to pass one of the two tests to qualify. If they qualify on the first test given, they will not need to take the second test. Although they may be given in a large group session, younger students will be tested in a small group setting to reduce test anxiety. Students must have the proper referral papers in and permission to test papers signed before the dates below in order to be tested during that session.
Scores will take several weeks to calculate and parents will be notified in writing with the results sent home in their child's peechee when all testing for that school is completed. Admission into the program is automatic and immediate following notification. If your child is admitted into the program, the GT teacher will be in touch to schedule an intake conference with you. Any questions, please contact the GT teacher assigned to that school, their contact information is located on the main GT page.
