A. Students will demonstrate competency in understanding critical health issues including:

2.  Environmental factors

3.  Heredity

B. Students will Demonstrate competency in understanding basic principles and theories of life science whether from biology, zoology, anthropology, botany, genetics, including:

1.  Structure of the cell

2.  Structures of living organisms, i.e., body systems

3.  Development of living organisms and basic classifications

4.  Ecology of ecosystems

C. Students will Demonstrate competency in understanding basic principles and theories of physical science whether from physics and chemistry including:

1.  Knowledge of common scientific principles: light, sound, mechanics, electricity, chemical reactions, etc.

2.  Structure of the atom and matter

D. Students will Demonstrate competency in understanding basic principles and theories of earth science whether from geology, astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, including:

1.  Physical processes which change the earth's surface

2.  Distribution of ecosystems on the earth's surface, including the local environment

3.  Changes which occur in the distribution of resources

4.  Basic knowledge of principles of time and space

All students must demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles and theories of physical, life, and earth sciences as well as knowledge of human health factors. All students must be competent in lab application.
