The Business Services Department itself deals with the more traditional business functions including payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, purchasing and warehousing. In addition, the Business Services Department handles property and liability insurance issues, attendance and enrollment reporting and intra/inter-district student variances.
Business Services also works in connection with the Buildings & Maintenance Department to manage all construction projects, including both small and large projects, from Capital Improvements and General maintenance to major building renovations funded by recent bond funding. This includes all bidding processes and procedures, permitting, design, implementation, contracts and mobilization, and continues through final completion of a project. A designated Project manager assists by managing large Bond funded projects, as well as other projects as directed by the Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer.
Business Services also manages most contractual matters, as well as interlocal agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between local public agencies. Business Services is responsible for enrollment audits, financial audits and more, including contributing to Policy and Procedure revisions as related to finance and property.
